Songwriters: Stacy Barthe

When my ear met Stacy's Sincerely Yours EP  last summer I was blown away by the sheer talent of this young lady possessed.  Her poise and control in the deliverance of each song can only be produced by the natural abilities of a songwriter.

The talented 26 year old from New York has written for Rhianna, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and Kelly Rowland. Her emotions pour in every track as she addresses the realities of broken heartaches and post relationship aftermath. Her smooth R&B would in film and television.

A Glimmer of Rey: Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey, formerly known as Lissy Grant, Has been buzzing around the music blog world since last summer. Her debut single Video Games, approached love through the classical sappy instrumentation i.e  harp, string, piano however lyrically Grant attempts to pull on the younger audience.

Despite her live performance upsets, Rey's studio work is still very usable in film and television. Her feeble hipster appeal is recognized and relative to many. Rey's second studio album, slated for release later this month, may have her listeners biting their nails. The fact still remains that the success of her album wont truly matter.

Album Preview: Shabazz Palace- Black Up

I tumbled across Shabazz Palace earlier this week and was completely floored by the avant-garde experimental Hip Hop duo's debut album Black Up that hit the net Fall 2011. Ishmahl Butler,  aka Butterfly of 90s hip hop jazz group Digable Plantes, and Tendai Maraire, the ingenious instrumentalist behind the albums production, come together to deliver an all encompassing expression of art in the form of wavelengths.

Black Up possesses a  strong revolutionary spirit. The highly conscious lyrical content fused with abstract rhythms makes for esoteric values. Shabazz Palace makes music that would fit well into Documentary films, especially profiling revolutionist themes.

James Blake: Melodramatic Pop

For those of you who haven't already heard of James Blake, I suggest you get familiar. Blake got his start in Dub-step production with the release of his first EP back in July 2009 , Air and Lack Thereof.

The British producer's self titled debut album in Spring 2011 gave his listener's an opportunity to hear his classical trained vocals integrated into his tasteful eclectic dub production creating a realm of sound never before experienced. Blake's music radiates spiritual relevance and would fit perfect in film and television scenes aimed in mystic appeal.

Sonnymoon

Sonnymoon has been receiving blog buzz since their debut release album Golden Age in December 2009. Anna Wise and Dane Orr created Sonnymoon while attending Berklee College of Music.

Golden Age delivers it's listeners a trippy, hypnotic and soulful  experience.

The duo just recently released a 2-track EP titled Blast Off, with more trip hop influence then Golden Age. Nonetheless, Sonnymoon's top marketable track's would definitely cause buzz if properly placed.
